Define the Outcome Before the Title
Write down the work that needs doing and why it matters now. A service advisor, a business-development advisor and a succession candidate solve different problems. Identify the reporting relationship, decision authority and three realistic outcomes for the first six months. Avoid combining several full-time jobs into one description.
Explain the Whole Opportunity
Describe the client segment, work arrangement, schedule, compensation framework, benefits and actual support. Separate required qualifications from preferred experience. Clarify whether the role requires an existing practice or includes business-development responsibilities. Do not imply guaranteed leads, earnings or equity that the firm cannot substantiate.
Choose and Prepare Your Channels
Create one approved description on the firm’s careers page with a working application link. Consider a planning-focused channel such as the CFP Board Career Center and broader professional channels such as LinkedIn or Indeed. Review each platform’s current rules and fees. Use distinct source tracking so you can compare qualified applications, not just clicks.
Publish With an Operating Plan
Have the employer review applicable disclosures and screening criteria. Test the application route on mobile, identify who reviews responses and set a realistic update schedule. Keep the posting current and close it when the role is filled. Our Hire Advisors page includes a copyable, downloadable draft builder; it does not post the job for you.
